Take me to New York

No, I haven’t ever been there unfortunately. As I said in my first post, I am going to talk about the places I would like to go too. New York is my dream; this city represents multiculturalism, fashion, famous people, shows, etc., in short, it has all you need to be entertained always.

To start, the most tourist part of the city is the borough of Manhattan. It’s an island no very big but it is the most important in the country too. There, we can find Central park, Times Square, Statue of Liberty, Downtown Manhattan, museums and the biggest neighbourhood of Chinese people in the Western Hemisphere, Chinatown.

The first place that I would like to visit is the famous 5th avenue. Afterwards, I would like to climb to Liberty Statue to see the city from the crown of the statue. Another place I wouldn’t lose neither is the Central Park because is the centre of the city and also the Times Square. Moreover, I would like to visit at least one museum, over all, Moma, Museum of modern Art, the most important in the whole world.

However, New York offers also four boroughs more: the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island. The Bronx is famous because hip-hop singers and there is also the largest zoo in North America. If you want to taste food from all over the world you should go to Queens.Besides, you can find Moma. By contrast with the metropolitan city is Staten Island, a place more quiet than Manhattan and the other as this borough is the furthest from Manhattan. The last one gives you the chance to visit Coney Island, a Green-wood cemetery and Brooklyn Nets.

To conclude, New York City offers everything you want. I am very sure that I would never be bored in this city. You can’t stop to learn and meet new people and their customs. That’s the charm of this city.

Essay: Gun ownerships

Gun ownerships are hazardous and insecure for humanity. Not many people are trained to have guns as they don't have gun licence or the government doesn't require. The problem is people who own guns have more risk to hurt or kill somebody. But in many countries, you can buy firearms in black market. Besides gun's licences are hardly ever necessary, if you are above 18 years old (21 year-old in the USA) you can buy a gun.

First, buying guns in black market is easy in countries of third world. People buy it because of insecurity in these countries, they need to be armed and in the black market they can purchase guns without problem. Moreover, firearms are cheaper if people acquire illicitly. For instance, lower-quality guns are often worth $100 or $200 less than retail. For that reason, people prefer to buy in that way.

Next, people who own guns are likely to have an accident. There are more chances to be involved in an accident or even a homicide. For example, there are an amount of cases where children take parent’s gun and by accident they hurt or kill their sibling, this happens usually in countries where there is no control of arms. Different from countries where police and citizens don’t have guns have less mortality. We can think about in England, police aren’t allowed to wear guns and they have a restricted law of guns. As a result, they don’t have accidents with firearms, especially in children.

Last, gun’s licenses hardly ever are necessary. In many states of USA it’s not necessary to have a gun’s license you only have to be of legal age (older than 18 or 21 year-old). For demonstrate, in the state of Alaska a permit is not required to purchase a gun, own a gun, or even to carry a gun. However, this is a world-wide problem because countries of South and Centro America, Africa and Asia don’t require any gun’s licenses. In South America, Argentina and Brazil are the only countries which ask a gun’s license. Otherwise, they are not demanding with this law

In summary, gun ownerships are dangerous because most people are allowed to carry a gun. For that reason, government must be strict with a law that requires a gun's licence. Besides, government has to forbid the gun's black market.  In that way, the fact to be involved in an accident is less than people who don’t have firearms. However, not only government has responsibility of this issue, but also people have to consider the problems to have a gun in their home.

Granada and its Alhambra

In September, I travelled to Granada with two friends. We spent three days and we were very glad with ‘caña + tapa’. We went by my car, so I drove all the way. It was the first and only time that I drove away from Murcia. When we arrived to the city we couldn’t find where to park. I was so annoyed because we wasted one hour to find space and I hate driving in unknown cities. Finally, we managed to park a ten-minute walk from the hotel. I booked our accommodation in Navas street, one of the main points of tapas in Granada. We have had lunch after we left our luggage in the room. The food was very great, but we didn’t like beer because all the restaurants served Cruzcampo with free tapa and we didn’t like that beer. However, we drank as the other ones were more expensive than Cruzcampo. Added to this, Granada is famous because of its Alhambra, a palace and fortress complex that was built by a Moorish emir. You can find also El Albayzin and Sierra Nevada.

Port Aventura and Salou

I went to Salou in May. It was a fam trip too, so I travelled with more travel agents. This time we were more people than in Ibiza’s fam trip. I have never been there, we spent one day in the park and two days in Salou.

Salou is located in Costa Daurada. It is a small town but in summer is very touristic because European people spend their holidays there. I like this city because of the beach and its climate. We visited some hotels in the zone and we went to party, of course!

The next day, we visited Port Aventura and two hotels of the park (there are four): Port Aventura and Gold River. I really liked the last one because it is themed like ‘Old West’. Afterwards, we rode in several attractions such as Shambala, Furious Bacco, Stampida, Tutuki splash and Dragon Khan. I enjoyed too much and I met new people very nice from Valencia, Pamplona, and Murcia.

That night was a match football between Real Madrid and Atletico de Madrid. We had had dinner in a hotel located in La Pineda and the travel organizer hurried us up as she didn’t want to lose the match. Unfortunately, the organizer was fan of Atletico and they lost. Therefore, we had dinner with rush for nothing. While the match was finishing we rested for a while. Then, we went to different pubs and discos of the zone to have a good knowledge and sell to our clients.

It was my first fam trip and my first travel alone. I was so glad because I met great people and I lived a new experience.

Ibiza is not only party

I went to this island in June of this year. I couldn’t imagine that I would go this year. It was a fam trip that a wholesaler offered to the travel agency in which I was working. When I knew this island I realized that is not only the famous island of party. It offers a wonderful landscapes and sunrises.

I caught a ship from Denia to San Antonio port. It was the first time that I was in a ship and many of my partners had a bad experience because they were with nauseas almost all the trip. When we arrived at the port we went to the hotel. I had from my room amazing views of the coast and it was in front of the beach. We rested for a while until the dinner and after that we went to party. I didn’t meet anyone of the travel agents, who were travelled with me, but they were so nice and they came from different cities of the country: Albacete, Valencia, Sevilla, and Alicante. We had a great night.

The next day we had to visit different hotels (this is our job in fam trips). The idea is to know the place and accommodation for recommend the best one to your costumers. So we visited the main places in the island: Ibiza, San Antonio and Santa Eulalia. In my opinion, the last one is the most beautiful, Santa Eulalia offers you coves and beaches more wonderful than in other places of the island.

We visited Dalias’ Market, it is a hippie market very popular in the island but also expensive. I didn’t buy anything but I liked the environment of the place. After that, we went to the beach and we rested until the dinner and again to go to party. The following day we spent the day in Ibiza city, we visited four-star hotels in Playa d’en Bossa and then we spent the night in Ibiza port. Here, it is very different from San Antonio, people are so glamorous and beautiful, but in San Antonio there are only drunk people. It was the last night in Ibiza and we farewell very good.

It was an unforgettable experience. I say always the same but all of these experiences have been very different and I really enjoyed all of them.

Paris, oh la la

My new post is about another beautiful city, Paris. Who has never heard it or who doesn’t want to go? It’s one of the most important cities in the world. It’s the reference of fashion parades; its Tour Eiffel is the symbol not only of the city but also of the country.

I was lucky to visit in April of this year. I had so much fun with my friend. It’s one of the best holidays that I have never had. I could only spend few days there, but I visited many places and we did many different activities. The first thing that I saw when I arrived to the city was Arc de Triomphe, it stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle. The monument honours those who fought and died for France in the French Revolutionary and the Napoleonic Wars.

After that, we went to Eiffel Tower and we rested in Champs de Mars. We met some people from different places Nigeria, Ethiopia, USA and they were very nice with us. The tower is very beautiful at night and the entire city as well. We really enjoyed that day meeting new people and places. The following day, we visited Notre Dame’s Cathedral, Louvre and Orsay’ Museum, you can´t lose them if you visit Paris. The sculptures, architectures and paintings are wonderful.

At the evening, we went out to party on Republic’s Square and we met new people too, this time French people and also they were very friendly with us. We visited Versailles´ Palace, it´s extremely striking! We couldn´t visit the palace because that day was closed, but we could stay in the gardens. They are the biggest that I have never been to. We went aboard on a tiny boat in a lake inside the palace buy we didn’t know how to row, so we stayed doing circles in the same place.

The last day, I visited Concorde’s Square and I walked through Champs Elysees, all the shops in this avenue were big and expensive too. It’s very long and there is many traffic because is the main avenue of Paris, it´s from The Triumphal Arch to Concorde’s Square. I also visited Sacre Coeur and Moulin Rouge.

I LOVE PARIS!

Rome, dream come true

I visited Rome in the winter of 2013. I travelled with my mum and there we met a friend from our country (Colombia). It was an amazing holidays. Rome is a beautiful city in where you never can be bored.
The first place that we visited was St. Peter’s Basilica, which is huge and has the famous sculpture the Pietà of Michelangelo. We climbed until the dome and I loved the beautiful scenery. I took many pictures from there as I am a keen photographer and one of the photos that I really liked was from the dome and also from the outside of the Roman Coliseum at night.
We also visited the main squares of Rome and all of them are gorgeous. The sculptures of the squares are inspired on mythology and have fountains which are wonderful. I love Navona’s Square, there are three enormous fountains and many artists gather there.
This experience was unforgettable and we are going to repeat this city in December with some family that come from Colombia and I am sure we will enjoy much than the first time.

There are some pictures:

Corvera's airport

Corvera's airport, the second airport in Murcia Region, is still closed and this represents a waste of money for the Region. The main solution is that they should open the airport, otherwise it will have benefits and the government could start to pay the doubt. However, Corvera's airport intervenes in military air space. That means, the flights from Corvera's airport have to respect this space and the flights depend on control tower of San Javier´s airport. If this airport opens, it will represent competition to San Javier's airport, the main airport. Nowadays, this has scheduled flights to different cities of Europe. Also, many low-cost companies fly there because it is cheaper than other airports. In summary, Corvera's airport should open to pay economic doubt and not to be another ''ghost airport'' in Spain.

Social networks

Social networks have some benefits but also some problems. The advantages are that you could be close to your friends or family. Also you can talk with many people at the same time and from all over the worlds, so it is a good way to meet new people. Moreover, if you don’t live in your country (as my case) you feel a bit near to your family and friends because you can see their photos and stay in contact with them. However, there are some disadvantages as you lose personal contact with the people, you don’t socialise as you used to do before you have a Facebook profile. Another problem is that there are many hackers and they hack your profile and take the place of you, thus creating you problems. Therefore, you have to be careful if you have social networks, you shouldn't add unknown people and give personal information.

Living in a small town and living in a big city

I would like to live in a big city because there are more people than in small towns. You can meet not only people from different parts of the country, but also the world. However, small towns are more quite than big cities. There isn´t much traffic and also you don't hear people on the streets at nights. Different from the big cities, small towns are cheaper like the suppliers or rent a house. By the way, in small towns you could pay more if you live in urbanizations. Unlike big cities, small towns are usually more secure as there aren't many foreigner people, whereas in big cities you can find diversity cultures and because of the prejudices we think that people from some countries are thieves or awful people. To summarize, living in big cities have some disadvantages but if you like meeting people, the noise don't disturb you and you have a good job or share a flat you could live in s big city without a problem.

''Humble'' artists

I am going to talk about the artists who said that they are humble. First of all, the meaning of humble is someone who does not brag about his success because thinks that it is not important or someone who is poor. These people say that they became from poor neighbourhoods and they couldn’t have all the staffs that they want when they were children. Therefore, they are still humble. The clear example of that are Reggaetton artists. For instance, Daddy Yankee one of the most recognized Reggaetton artist say that ‘I am staying the same humble person’, you cannot be a humble person when you waste the money in whatever thing that you want as luxurious cars, big gold collars and rings, designer clothes and boast about your awards. For that reason, I do not like Reggaetton artist as most of them are false with their followers and say many times that they are humbles when they are not.

A place called Bogota

My favourite place is Bogota, the city where I was born. It is a crowded small noisy city, not many people like big cities or capitals but I grew up there and I love it. Bogota has much traffic and public transport is very slow as usual. Bogota is the main city of Colombia not only because is the capital, but also because has the major number of monuments, museums and theatres in the country. Bogota offers you culture, gastronomy, nightlife and you have all the seasons in one day. At midday it is hot; at afternoon it is cool and on evenings it is cold. However, I can have so much fun in that city with my family and friends even it is raining or with 25 centigrade (it's the highest temperature). I hope to come back and enjoy this amazing city.

An amazing friend

I haven't got any brothers and sisters, but I grew up with my cousins. At the age of 8 years I met my friend Hanjy. We were on third grade and she is one of my best friends, but also is like a sister that I have never had.

She is wonderful friendly intelligent person. She is studying psychology and she knows almost everything about me. In relation to her physical appearance, she is taller than me but I am older than her. She has long curly black hair, she has small dark eyes and her constitution is thin and a little weak. Furthermore, she is one of the people in whom I trust the most.

I am Angélica

I am twenty years old; I am from a very lovely and beautiful country, Colombia and I have lived in Murcia since 2007.

I choose this career because I love languages, specially English. I studied also Travel agency and Event managements. I have few experience as a travel agent but I did some fam trips (familiarization trips*) in which I knew new places. It was a great opportunity for meeting people and knowing places.

One of my hobbies, it is travelling (when I have money). So, on the blog I will like to talk about the destinations in which I have been to and others in where I will like to visit.

*Fam trips are travels that a wholesaler organizes for the retailers (the travel agencies) with the aim of knowing their products and destinations.
